Federal & Global Semester Applications Open!

Want college credit for a Washington internship? Interested in global or domestic issues? Intrigued by the idea of a career in public service?  Apply now to the
Federal Semester Program or Global Semester in Washington, D.C.!

In both programs students take a fall-semester seminar from industry practitioners in one of several concentrations covering foreign policy, diplomacy, homeland security, energy and environment, and science in a global context. In the spring semester, students intern at federal agencies, congressional offices, think-tanks, nonprofits, and related organizations.

The Rawlings Undergraduate Leadership Fellows Program

If you have at least two semesters remaining at the university and a commitment to public leadership, you are strongly encouraged to apply.   Fellows design and implement their own community action projects, take courses on leadership, serve at an internship, and meet elected officials, community advocates, and non-profit leaders. 
  Applications are due Friday, April 18, 2014, by 5 PM.

USPTO Student Veteran Hiring - HIRING NOW

The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) is in the process of hiring student veterans for our paid Veteran Intern Program (VIP) - Patent Examiner Student Trainee. 
Please register for our upcoming career fair in Alexandria, VA where you will get detailed information about the VIP, hear from others in the program, and interview with agency representatives for immediate hire (contingent on meeting the qualifications).

Event Schedule - Same on April 11th and April 12th
  • Registration starts at 9:30 a.m.
  • First VIP information session is from 10-10:30 a.m.
  • First round interviews are from 10:30 - 12:00 p.m.
  • Panel of VIP interns (and recent hires) from 12:00-12:30 p.m.
  • Registration starts back up from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.
  • Second VIP information session is from 1:00-1:30 p.m.
  • Second round interviews are from 1:30-3:00 p.m.
