The Washington
Center is the largest independent, nonprofit academic internship program in the
country. It brings together exceptional and dedicated college students and
civic, governmental and business leaders, hundreds of colleges and
universities, scores of public and private host organizations (or internship
sites), and more than 50,000 alumni.
Offered during
spring, summer, and fall, the internship program consists of three components:
1. An internship
that is tailored to your interests, skills and professional goals.
2. A leadership
forum consisting of weekly events, including a speakers series, a career boot
camp, a meeting on Capitol Hill and more.
3. An academic
course, ranging across many disciplines, that meets one evening each week.

Headfirst Camps
is an award-winning provider of summer day camps and official licensed provider
of MLB baseball camp instruction for the Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees,
and the Chicago Cubs. Our footprint is national and growing, and we’ve been
designated as the metro Washington DC area’s #1 youth summer camp organization.
The primary objective of the Program Leader is to develop our counselors into
role models who build character in the campers and ensure that every camper has
an extraordinary experience every day, while also ensuring their program
operates smoothly and safely.
Duties and
responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Coach the
counselors on how to facilitate activities and games in a manner that maximizes
growth and learning for every camper and minimizes passive time.
• Help
counselors understand and implement the daily curriculum and schedule as
outlined in the company handbook and in trainings.
• Lead large
group meetings on a daily basis, implementing the Headfirst “show”.
• Take on
additional responsibilities as identified or requested by Leadership Team.
Job
Requirements:
• 18 years old
and graduated from high school.
• Minimum 3
years’ experience teaching or working with kids.
• Minimum 2
years’ experience supervising and developing direct reports.
• CPR/First Aid
certification.
