Law School Recruitment Fair Tuesday, October 16 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. This event provides a unique opportunity for students and alumni considering law school to meet face to face with law school admissions representatives from across the country. Over 100 law schools typically attend this event. Suggested attire for this event is business casual. AXA Advisors Next Step Externship Program - Information Session  Tuesday, October 16 | 5-8 p.m. The Next Step Externship program is a unique opportunity designed for college Juniors and Seniors who are interested in furthering their knowledge of the finance industry, but want to do it in a quick, three session program versus a semester long internship. USAJobs Application Workshop Wednesday, October 17 | 4-6 p.m. Learn how to finesse your USAJobs application for federal internships, fellowships, and permanent employment. Bring your laptop (optional) to begin building your profile or apply for a position right away. Geographical Sciences Career and Internship Fair Friday, October 19 | 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Public, private and non-profit employers will be in attendance to fill internship and full-time positions, as well as network with undergraduate and graduate students. All majors welcomed, but this event will be of particular interest to students majoring in Geography, Geographic Information Systems and Environmental Science and Policy. JCPenney Suit-Up Event Sunday, October 21 | 6-9 p.m. This is an exclusive shopping experience for the UMD community. All career dress apparel and shoes will be an additional 40% off. Security Clearance Background Checks Workshop Monday, October 22 | 4-5:30 p.m. Federal Government representatives will share details and bust myths about the process and how you can boost your chances to work with agencies like the FBI, CIA, State Department and others. Maryland Department of Health Career Fair & Open House Tuesday, October 23 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Attendees will have a chance to meet with hiring managers and other employees to get insight into their experiences and the types of positions that comprise the Department. Free Professional Headshots Tuesday, October 16 | 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, October 19 | 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Take a free professional headshot for your professional profiles (Careers4Terps, LinkedIn, etc.)!  No appointments necessary. This is a drop-in event. Expect to take 5-10 minutes out of your day. Our photographer will take three photos, and email you the photo of your choice from the three options. You can expect your photo sent out within 7 business days post-event. Intern For A Day In order to receive an application to participate in Intern for a Day, you must attend an informative, 30-minute orientation session that will cover the application process, how you will be matched with a host, best practices when shadowing your host on-site, and how to show appreciation to your host after your experience.
